Company Overview
Fortescue’s acquisition of Williams Advanced Engineering in 2022 – a leader in electrification technology and battery supplier to all electric racing series, – signified a strategic move towards decarbonisation and zero-emission technologies for heavy industry. Learning from the fast-paced and high-performing environment of motorsport technology, Fortescue WAE have we a wealth of expertise in designing and optimising cutting-edge solutions under stringent performance requirements and tight timelines and are committed to delivering high-performance, cost-efficient, and zero-emission power systems that power progress and sustainability.
Collaboration
Past
Fortescue WAE and EVOA first collaborated in 2018 when Fortescue WAE undertook a study to provide EVOA with the definition of key performance requirements, including output power, range, and packaging needs for their high-performance marine powertrain. EVOA and Fortescue WAE also worked to develop a range extender unit that extended “up-time” for a typical excursion from 80 minutes to 2 hours.
Present
EVOA E1 and Fortescue WAE are currently engaged in a number of strategic studies to further enhance high performance marine powertrains and in doing so, provide “real-world” solutions. Using motorsport derived capabilities derived from the most extreme of environments, Fortescue WAE are committed to resolving packaging and power challenges with their scalable architecture battery design.
